All tournaments we host include food and drinks for players. Family and friends are, of course, welcome to attend and cheer on the participants; however, they should plan to bring their own refreshments while watching the event.
The number of matches played depends on the tournament format. For round robin tournaments, players typically compete in a minimum of 5–6 games. In bracket play, players are guaranteed at least 2–3 matches, with each match played as a best-of-three games format.
Some tournaments at Scripps Ranch Swim & Racquet Club are members-only. For these events, Connor typically drafts the teams himself, with some assistance, to ensure the teams are as balanced as possible based on his knowledge of the players.
For non-member tournaments, players can sign up as a team with anyone they choose, provided all participants meet the skill level requirements specified for the event.
In general, most of our tournaments are not sanctioned by the USAPA/DUPR, though this may change in the future for higher-level events as we continue to expand and provide more competitive opportunities for advanced players.
